Over 6,000 runners braved Kampala’s hills on March 16, 2025, for the Absa KH3-7 Hills Run, rallying under the theme “Change Her Story” to support girls' education across Uganda.
From Kololo to Kibuli, each conquered hill symbolized a barrier overcome, poverty, early marriage, and limited access to menstrual hygiene. With UGX 500 million raised since 2023, the run is more than a race, it’s a movement reshaping futures, one girl at a time.

In Masunkwe Bubuubi, Zirobwe, the Rotary Club of Kasangati, in partnership with Rotary Club of Sebastopol (USA) and the Anthill Foundation, has built a vocational school offering young mothers and school dropouts a free second chance at education and life. With skills in hairdressing, tailoring, and plans to provide startup capital after graduation, the school aims to empower 100 girls every year, helping them reclaim their futures. It’s more than a school, it’s a lifeline of hope, proving that when we invest in second chances, we transform lives.

The Mastercard Foundation is empowering Uganda’s youth through its Young Africa Works strategy, which has already engaged over 3.8 million young people, helping 1.3 million transition into meaningful employment. At a recent event in Kampala, the Foundation spotlighted 30 youth-led enterprises and emphasized the urgent need to expand access to finance, skills, and digital tools, especially for women, refugees, and rural youth. With a bold goal to reach 30 million young Africans by 2030, Mastercard is proving that investing in youth is investing in Africa’s future.

The Rotary Club of Muyenga turned Uganda Golf Club, Kitante into a force for good during its Fundraising Golf Tournament, rallying support to improve healthcare and clean water access in Mityana District.
