Art Auction for philanthropy! Sharing of Art in Time, Tressure and Talent!
Art and the Brain: Fundraising Art Auction to Support children's Brain Surgery in Uganda.
Amanda Tumusiime, an associate professor at Makerere University and Head of Department of Visual Communications Design and Multimedia, shares her talent to meet the community's urgent needs. Her charitable efforts have spanned many years and various partnerships. Tumusiime's journey of using her artistic abilities to fundraise for positive community changes began in the 1990s when she participated in an exhibition titled Nyero Gilar Kitgum (Hope for Kitgum), which was organized with support from Uganda's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to benefit the traumatized Kitgum District in Northern Uganda. As a result, hon Eriya Kategaya (RIP), Minister of Foreign Affairs, launched a humanitarian project to help the neediest people. Tumusiime also took part in this campaign, to mention but a few.
Tumusiime is collaborating with Dr. Patrick Bitature, a Ugandan businessman, entrepreneur, and author, this time. Bitature, the chairman of the Simba Group of Companies, an East African conglomerate with holdings in telecommunications, energy production, mining, media, real estate, travel, and leisure r and owner of Protea Hotels East Africa, to put on an art auction themed Art and the Brain: Fundraising Art Auction to Support children's Brain Surgery in Uganda. The aim of the art auction is to Support Children's Brain Surgery in Uganda.
Tumusiime's paintings, reproduced as art prints will be featured at the art auction. On March 31, 2022, it will take place at the Protea Hotel in Kampala. The funds raised from the art sales will allow the hospital to help additional children suffering from these illnesses, which mainly damage the brain.
