Absa Uganda Raises UGX 400M to Empower Over 10,000 Girls

Impact isn't always measured in shillings and cents. Sometimes, it's measured in solar-lit homework, in restored dignity, and in the quiet confidence of a girl who knows she's not forgotten.

Through the 2025 Absa KH3 7 Hills Run, Absa Bank Uganda raised UGX 400 million, directing it to eight organizations working to improve education, health, and opportunity for vulnerable girls across Uganda. This isn’t just generosity; it’s strategic philanthropy in motion. Partners like Windle Trust International are investing in smart school bags made from recycled materials and fitted with solar-powered lights, replacing kerosene lamps with safe, sustainable tools for learning.

Since its launch in 2023, the initiative has already supported over 10,843 girls, proof that when brands use their influence to rally others, they create more than campaigns; they build movements. This is how giving becomes catalytic: when platforms become purpose, and purpose becomes policy.

Whether through education, visibility, or collective care, this effort shows that giving is not just what we donate; it’s what we activate in others.
