MTN Uganda Partners with Tooro Kingdom to Uplift Vulnerable Children
In Fort Portal, giving took many forms, not just in money, but in presence, partnership, and play. As part of the #21DaysOfYelloCare campaign, MTN Uganda, led by CEO Sylvia Mulinge M.B.S., joined hands with the Tooro Kingdom to bring joy, dignity, and digital tools to orphans and vulnerable children.
With partners like Bayobab, Towerco, and Transtel, MTN delivered UGX 20 million in staff donations, along with computers, solar power, internet access, mattresses, fruit trees, and a new television to Toro Babies Home and Best Nursery & Primary School. But the giving didn’t stop at equipment; the team also built a playground from scratch, because every child deserves the gift of laughter and play.
As Queen Best beautifully put it, “You’ve not only given resources but restored joy and dignity to our children.” The visit culminated in a warm audience with King Oyo, a powerful reminder that true impact begins at the roots, with trust, collaboration, and the will to show up fully.
This is giving redefined: not just what you give, but how you give—deliberately, joyfully, and side by side with community.
