The Easter Teen Mom Charity brings joy to Teenage Mothers.

Giving Digest: The Easter Teen Mom Charity, organized under the #UgLoveMovement, extended support to 122 teenage mothers and 40 babies in central Uganda. Led by Asiimwe Angella, the charity drive aimed to provide basic needs, psychosocial support, and legal aid to teenage mothers and orphans across the country. The initiative began with Angella donating various items to four orphanages in Kabale district, benefiting institutions like the Shepherd's Center, House of Hope Orphanage, and Rugarama Hospital.

As the founder of UgLove Movement, Angella and her team of activists and corporates came together to raise funds for the Easter Teen Mom Charity Drive. The objective was to offer basic needs to more than 100 teenage mothers in April 2023. Having experienced firsthand the challenges of being a dejected and helpless child mother, Angella was motivated to help other teen mothers and orphans. To achieve this, she engaged the support of her family, friends, and well-wishers within the country and abroad. Donations from each person amounted to 50,000 Uganda shillings and above, while overseas donors contributed 12 pounds to procure food supplies and sanitary materials.

The charity's efforts culminated in a heartwarming event on Good Friday, where they spent time with teenage mothers in Mukono and donated the much-needed items. By providing psychosocial support, legal aid, and essential resources, the Easter Teen Mom Charity aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of these young mothers and their children.
