CivSource Africa at Five

Ladies and gentlemen,

It is with great pride that we mark CivSource Africa’s 5th Anniversary. Congratulations and deepest gratitude to our Advisory Committee, Board members, management, staff, associates and partners as we celebrate this milestone. Growing an organization is hard work. It requires patience, steadfastness, passion, commitment and the audacity to imagine a future and work towards it. Making 5 is a big deal for us. Scholars of organizational mortality rates will agree with me that 5 is a milestone worth celebrating, knowing that a good number of organizations and companies do not live to celebrate their third birthday. We have made progress, and I am proud of the team that has worked hard to get us here. Congratulations!

Remember the earth doesn’t need you, you need the earth. Oftentimes as humans, we have forgotten our cardinal duty as Earth’s custodian. The sight of poorly dumped rubbish, clogged rivers, and drainage channels is not alien to any of us.

The adverse effects of our actions have already been witnessed by the majority of us. If you have not interfaced a flooded road you know nothing about our plight better yet you don’t live in this our beloved country, Uganda.
