Barungi James Bob
James has a robust academic background that demonstrates his commitment to professional growth and leadership. He recently completed core training for professional coaching at Coach Masters Academy in Singapore in July 2024. In March 2023, he became an Insights Discovery Client Practitioner in South Africa. His pursuit of excellence in collaboration and leadership led him to Northwestern University in the United States, where he completed a course on High Performance Collaboration: Leadership, Teamwork, and Negotiation in April 2018. He also holds a Master's degree in Management Studies from Uganda Management Institute, awarded in 2018, alongside a Post Graduate Diploma in Income Tax and Revenue Administration from the East African School of Taxation in the same year. Further enhancing his qualifications, he earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute in 2015. James began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics from Makerere University in 2012.
Professionally, James serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Nirel Company Limited, a firm dedicated to addressing the comprehensive needs of businesses in areas such as leadership, business strategy, sales, marketing, communications, and customer service. His leadership skills were also exemplified during his tenure as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Uganda Revenue Authority Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCO), the second-largest SACCO in Uganda. During his time there, he spearheaded strategic development that significantly boosted total assets from 60 billion to over 112 billion. His extensive experience includes his role as Project Manager for the Customs Modernization Projects at URA and his service as the Vice-Chairperson of the World Customs Organization's Advance Passenger Information Contact Committee, a body responsible for overseeing more than 98% of world trade across 185 countries. James has also shown a proven track record in founding and leading successful ventures in the Knowledge Consulting, Transport, and Finance sectors.
In his free time, James enjoys executive coaching, reading, and professional youth mentorship. He also has a passion for traveling, which complements his dedication to personal and professional development.
