Giving Digest: Hope on the Green: Golfing to Empower 1,000 Mothers

The 2026 Watoto Golf Tournament, themed “Hope on the Green,” is turning sport into an opportunity to give. The initiative aims to raise UGX 450 million to support 1,000 vulnerable mothers with business starter kits and livelihood support that can help them build sustainable sources of income.

Running at the Uganda Golf Club through 8 August, the tournament brings together golfers, businesses and partners around a shared purpose: restoring dignity, strengthening families and helping mothers create more secure futures. Joseph Beyanga described it simply as a chance to “break the cycle of poverty and vulnerability, one mother at a time.”
