Giving Digest | A Giver That Shows Up
More than 350 runners traded sleep for the streets of Mutungo, Port Bell and Butabika for the Midnight Run, turning a quiet night into something shared.
There was no single way of giving here. Runners gave their time, energy and encouragement to one another. The neighbourhoods made room for hundreds of feet to pass through. Partners including Ugachick, Mighty Rides and TMR International Hospital contributed the support that helped make the experience possible. And within the running community itself, experienced runners have built a culture of looking out for one another, making sure the journey is shared and no one is left behind.
Perhaps generosity is also this: creating spaces where people can belong, participate, encourage one another and discover community in unexpected places, even on the streets of Kampala after midnight.
What spaces are we creating where simply showing up becomes a gift to someone else?
