Giving Digest | Twenty Years of Restoring Hope, One Life at a Time
Twenty years of service. More than 1,800 girls and women supported. A journey sustained by people who have given their time, resources and commitment to helping others rebuild their lives.
As Rahab Uganda celebrated its 20th anniversary, former board member Ariho Kamara reflected on a personal journey that began with an act of generosity. After losing his brother, he chose to mark his 43rd birthday by converting his birthday gifts into financial contributions for three organisations, including Rahab Uganda. What began as a personal decision to give eventually became a lasting relationship with an organisation dedicated to supporting girls and young women affected by exploitation and human trafficking.
Since its establishment in 2005, Rahab Uganda has provided shelter, education, psychosocial support, vocational training and opportunities for economic independence. Its anniversary celebrates the contributions of staff, volunteers, board members and supporters whose collective generosity has helped women and girls rebuild their lives and pursue new possibilities. Ariho's reflection illustrates how a single decision to give can grow into years of service and shared responsibility.
