GIVING DIGEST: Vision Group Launches the 2nd National Martyrs Choral Festival
At its heart, music is an act of giving, a gift of joy, hope, and unity. This spirit was on full display as Vision Group officially launched the second edition of the National Martyrs Choral Festival at Rubaga Cathedral.
This festival is not just a musical competition; it’s a living tribute to generosity, of talent, faith, and community spirit. Choirs from across Uganda will offer their voices and hearts, coming together to celebrate the legacy of the Uganda Martyrs and the Christian values of faith, unity, and sacrifice.
In his remarks, Vision Group’s Deputy Managing Director, Gervase Ndyanabo, emphasized that the festival is a platform to Honor the Uganda Martyrs through collective celebration, not rivalry. It is a gift back to the community, a shared space where faith-based institutions, corporate sponsors like Equity Bank, Crown Beverages (Pepsi), Parliament of Uganda, and URA, and everyday Ugandans unite to strengthen the bonds of hope and togetherness.
Through the support of sponsors and the participation of choirs from every corner of Uganda, the festival reminds us that generosity isn’t just financial, it’s spiritual. It is in every note sung, every hand extended in partnership, and every voice raised for a common purpose.
How to Participate: A Call to Give Through Music
Choirs are invited to register by contributing UGX 100,000, a small act of commitment that plants the seed for a national harvest of faith and inspiration.
Choirs (up to 20 members) will submit a 3-minute video to enter the competition, offering their talent as a gift to the nation.
Public voting allows everyone to participate, to support, to uplift, and to celebrate our shared heritage.
With cash prizes totalling UGX 36 million across Catholic and Anglican choir categories, the festival honours those who offer their gifts with excellence and heart. Yet, the greatest reward lies not in the prize money, but in the shared experience of lifting others through music, faith, and unity.
The festival will culminate on May 31st 2025 at Kampala Serena Hotel, a powerful gathering of songs, stories, and spirits moving together toward Uganda Martyrs Day.
Through music, we give. Through faith, we unite. Through generosity, we build a stronger, more connected Uganda. Join the National Martyrs Choral Festival and be part of a celebration where every voice matters and every gift counts.
