GIVING DIGEST: Dorcus Inzikuru Rallies Behind the Rise of Coffee Women
In a heartwarming act of community spirit, Uganda’s iconic steeplechase gold medallist Dorcus Inzikuru has joined forces with Aspire Africa Group as the brand ambassador for the upcoming Aspire Coffee Marathon, a campaign aimed at uplifting rural coffee farmers, especially women, from poverty.
Inzikuru’s voice, rooted in resilience and national pride, now champions another race, one for economic empowerment through coffee. The Aspire Coffee Marathon, set for May 24 at Africa Coffee Park, Rwashamaire, Ntungamo District, is not just about physical endurance. It’s about collective generosity, running to sow seeds of opportunity for women whose livelihoods depend on Uganda’s coffee.
Participants will have the chance to run in:
1. 42km Full Marathon
2. 21km Half Marathon
3. 10km Race
4. 5km Leisure Walk
Why It Matters? As Inzikuru beautifully put it: “I am happy to be part of this big call.”
It’s a call to action, to stand with rural coffee farmers, to celebrate their labour, and to open new doors for economic independence and community growth.
When we run for others, we carry more than ourselves, we carry hope, opportunity, and the power to transform lives.
