GIVING DIGEST: Empowering Dreams Through Football at Motherwell Academy

In the heart of Mutungo, Motherwell Junior School and its vibrant Motherwell Soccer Academy are nurturing more than just young footballers, they’re shaping dreams, discipline, and determination. Recently inspired by a visit from English football legend Steven Taylor, the academy has set its sights on victory in the 5th edition of the FUFA Primary Schools Football Championships, widely known as ODILO.

Under the dedicated leadership of Coach David Kamanzi, pupils are undergoing intensive training in preparation for the tournament and other upcoming competitions. With a holistic approach that balances sports and academics, the academy is becoming a beacon of hope and opportunity for many young learners.

Coach Kamanzi emphasizes the importance of community support in this journey, urging parents to keep entrusting the academy with their children's development, not just as athletes, but as well-rounded individuals.

The impact is already visible. From P.7 pupil Desire Kato, who dreams of a football career like his idols Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandez, to striker Kusasira, inspired by Garnacho, the academy is fueling ambition and igniting passion.

Motherwell’s story is a reminder that giving, of time, mentorship, space, and belief,  can transform lives. One child, one dream, one goal at a time.
