Giving Digest: From Warm Tears to Cold Tears by Dr. Milka Singh

Life often presents us with unexpected opportunities to make a lasting impact. Years ago, a young girl, abandoned by her family and the father of her child, faced the harsh realities of life alone. Destitute and vulnerable, she gave birth in a hospital where compassionate nurses offered her support and kindness.

Through a series of events, her daughter found a new home with a loving family—what started as a simple act of providing employment turned into a journey of transformation. With unwavering love, encouragement, and access to education, the young girl blossomed beyond all expectations.

On 16th January 2025, tears of joy—cold tears—streamed down her caregivers’ faces as they witnessed her graduate with a Bachelor’s in Commerce from Makerere University. This remarkable milestone is not just a testament to resilience but also to the power of belief and opportunity.

With dreams of becoming a CPA and pursuing an MBA in finance, this young woman now stands on the threshold of an incredible future. Her story reminds us that giving is not just about meeting immediate needs; it’s about equipping individuals with the tools to thrive and empowering them to rewrite their destinies.

Every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the potential to ignite transformation. Let this story inspire us all to continue investing in the lives of others and creating pathways to success.

Because when we give, we don't just change lives—we shape futures.

Did you know? Tears of sorrow are warm, while tears of joy are cold.
