Giving Digest: The Church has been an age-old cornerstone for community and faith in the Ugandan context. Stanbic Bank Uganda and Liberty Insurance Uganda have jointly donated 400 bags of cement to St. Andrew’s Archdeacon Church of Uganda in Gayaza, aiming to enhance its infrastructure and support its role as a spiritual and community center. The donation ceremony, held at the church, included representatives from both companies: Sameer Modan, Head Distribution, Insurance, and Asset Management for Stanbic and Liberty in Africa Regions; Mohammad Danish Eqbal, CEO of Liberty Life Assurance; and Peter Makhanu, MD of Liberty General Insurance.

Leaders from the church, including Rev. Canon Henry Segawa, Diocesan Secretary for the Namirembe Diocese, and Venerable Dunstan Mazinga, Archdeacon of Gayaza, expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its importance in improving church facilities and community service. Mohammad Danish of Liberty Life Assurance highlighted their commitment to community development, stating, "We are privileged to partner with the Church of Uganda, not only to build structures but to build futures where every community member can thrive."

In response, Sameer Modan underscored the partnership's significance, noting plans to expand services and support to congregants, starting with wellness platforms in nine parishes within the Namirembe Diocese. This initiative reflects Stanbic Bank and Liberty Insurance Uganda's ongoing commitment to meaningful corporate social responsibility and sustainable community development.
