MAKERERE SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH’S FUNDRAISING YIELDS RESULTS:

Giving Digest: The Makerere School of Public Health has over the years raised USD 3.5 million towards the construction of the school’s new building. In addition to this, the Rockefeller Foundation, a prominent American philanthropic organization, has donated USD $100,000 to Makerere University in support of the construction of a new School of Public Health building. The foundation's Vice President for the Africa region, William Asiko, announced the donation during a visit to the university's construction site. The Rockefeller Foundation has a history of supporting Makerere University, having contributed to the construction of the current School of Public Health building and the establishment of the Master of Public Health program. The new building will house a centre for disease outbreak prevention and response research, enhancing public health initiatives in Uganda and beyond. Makerere University School of Public Health, a leading institution in sub-Saharan Africa, has experienced significant growth in student enrolment and staff numbers. With the generous support from the Rockefeller Foundation and other fundraising efforts, the university is making strides in advancing public health in the region.
