New Shoes, New Confidence: THE SOLES OF SUCCESS CAMPAIGN

Giving Digest: SOMA Foundation gives shoes to needy pupils through the Soles of Success campaign.

SOMA Foundation is a Ugandan Non-profit Organization reaching out to various students, employees, and self-employed individuals and rallying them together around common values to address societal-wide problems through developmental programs like increasing access to holistic Education, career guidance, and counseling empowering youths with poverty eradication skills, provision of safe water, food items and relief services among other initiatives.

In October, the SOMA Foundation launched their "Soles for Success Campaign," generously providing 130 pairs of school shoes valued at 6.5 million Ugandan shillings to the students of Mother Rose Junior School in Lwengo District.

The primary aim of this donation was to help instill self-esteem and confidence in these young learners as they embark on their educational journeys. Dr. Immaculate Nabukenya, who co-founded the SOMA Foundation, emphasized the positive influence of a child attending school in proper shoes, stating that it significantly bolsters their self-esteem and confidence.

The Headmaster of Mother Rose Junior School, John Baligeya Baalinda, expressed gratitude to the SOMA Foundation team and warmly welcomed this generous act. He noted that many of the students at the school faced various vulnerabilities, making this donation even more significant.

The SOMA Foundation's compassionate gesture serves as a powerful reminder that performing acts of kindness without expecting anything in return is at the core of our human existence. It highlights the ripple effect of kindness, where today's kindness may inspire others to do the same in the future.
