CONVENTION REPORT: Inaugural Africa Fiscal Hosting Convention

CivSource South Africa, as part of its mandate to facilitate conversations and promote reflective and accountable philanthropic practices in Africa, hosted the inaugural Africa Fiscal Hosting Convention from 9 to 10 May 2024 in Dar es Salaam,Tanzania.

The two-day event included various presentations, panel discussions and group discussions in support of the following objectives:

  • Knowledge-sharing – to facilitate learning and the exchange of insights, experiences, practices, and innovative approaches.

  • Strategic Organising – to identify shared challenges and explore opportunities to improve fiscal hosting services and practices in Africa.

  • Networking and Solidarity – to forge connections and collectively envision the role of fiscal hosting in advancing non-profit sustainability and social justice causes in Africa.

  • Setting the Agenda for the Future – to envision the next steps in the strategic evolution of fiscal hosting in Africa, and lay the groundwork for a cohesive, sustainable ecosystem of African fiscal hosting organisations and stakeholders.

The landmark event was attended by 46 participants from eight African countries, representing fiscal hosts, non-profit organisations, funders and other strategic stakeholders. Download Report
