People For The Journey

Dear CivSource,

I was tired and exhausted and scared for what the future of 2020 held. I was worried about where to find funding, who to work with, how to persuade people that there are critical issues that ought to be addressed for women to be free from abuse and discrimination in our society. Too much was going on in mind which was often confusing and stopping me in my tracks. Inertia, I call it.

When I got to the Lakeside Escape however, the nature and the warmth of the facilitators were very reassuring.  I listened to group of lady leaders sharing their experiences and how they have walked the journey of establishing new businesses and nonprofits and was empowered and reassured not to worry. The best part is that many are willing to hold my hand and walk this growth journey of leadership with me. That was awesome!

I am eternally grateful for the connection to much needed social capital and friendships, which presented a new profound perspective I hadn’t considered before. I even learnt how to manage stress and put Me on my to-do-list every day. The personal is political, I heard.
