Human Rights Network for Journalists Launches Annual Press Freedom index Report

The Human Rights Network for Journalists – Uganda (HRNJ-Uganda) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting media freedom and protecting journalists’ rights and freedom of expression in Uganda. Comprising a network of journalists in the country, HRNJ-Uganda strives to defend human rights and enhance the capacity of media professionals. In furtherance of their mission, HRNJ-Uganda organized a half-day dialogue on May 25th 2023 to discuss the findings of the 2022 PFI. The event sought to foster constructive discussions among journalists, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), academia, development partners, and government agencies. Together, they aimed to generate feasible recommendations to enhance the working environment for journalists and protect press freedom. Read more
