Five Years, Three Organizations, One Stubborn Belief
The East Africa Financial Resilience Hub marks five years of collaboration between Foundation for Civil Society, Kenya Community Development Foundation, and CivFund/CivSource Africa, strengthening the financial resilience of civil society through practical tools, learning, and partnership. Over this journey, the work has supported a shift from grant dependence toward planning, stewardship, and long-term sustainability, with approaches ranging from financial coaching and compliance clinics to catalytic grants and joint learning spaces.
The Hub’s story is also one of patient, trusted collaboration: showing up consistently, experimenting, learning, and contributing to wider conversations on localization and African philanthropy. While no single partnership can transform an entire ecosystem alone, this milestone reflects steady progress made alongside civil society organisations committed to building stronger financial foundations.
