Joan Larok
Joan is the founder and Team Leader of Magister Training Associates a training consultancy company on a mission to equip and resource individuals and organisations with personal development and organisational development services so they thrive.
Previously, Joan spent over 18 years in financial, grants and operations management roles for International and Local Charities and a Public University where she was keen to translate funds/grants into impactful goods and services for communities and sponsors alike.
Joan holds a Masters’ degree in Development Economics from Uganda Martyrs University, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Makerere University, a Professional Accountancy qualification from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of UK, Certified Public Accountant the Ugandan equivalent. Joan also holds a Certificate in Organisational Development and Management from the East African Support Unit for NGOs from Arusha Tanzania. Joan is a Certified Speaker, Trainer and Coach with the Maxwell Leadership Team as well as a Certified Trainer and Consultant on the Maxwell DISC Behavioural Method.
Joan is passionate about building capacity for public institutions, private sector, not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises in sound organisational development services including; organisational assessments, strategy, resource mobilisation, financial, grants management, leadership, communication and team building.
Joan is Board Member in CivFund where she heads the Audit Finance and Risk Committee. She is also a Board Member at One School At A Time as well as Nature Uganda. She is the Chairperson of Growth Club an investment club that’s is women founded and led with a vision of empowering women to be socially and financially prosperous. Joan loves nature and adventure. Joan loves nature walks in the wild and around water bodies.
