Giving Digest | Walking Beside a Dream

One community walk. Young dreamers. Professionals giving their time, experience and encouragement to help children imagine the futures they could build.

On 5 September 2026, the streets of Katwe and Kisenyi in Kampala became an open classroom during the Dream Walk Xperience 2026, organised by Galui Foundation under the leadership of its founder, Twikirize Ronald. Young people walked alongside doctors, lawyers, educators, entrepreneurs and other professionals, exchanging questions, experiences and insights about careers, education and the possibilities ahead. Among the Chief Walkers was Jacqueline Asiimwe Mwesige, CEO of CivSource Africa, who joined the children in conversations about their aspirations.

The experience continued at the Dream Village in Katwe, where children explored their interests through vision boards, chess, creative activities and conversations with mentors. Beyond the day's activities, the initiative also supports the Dream Walk Education Fund, connecting mentorship and community participation to efforts that help children remain in school. It demonstrated how generosity can take the form of making one's knowledge, experience and presence available to someone still discovering what their future might hold.
