GIVING DIGEST: When Small Acts Spark Big Change

What does support look like? Sometimes, it’s not in grand gestures, but in a 5-liter jerrycan of liquid soap.

At a recent #WalkTalkConnect meeting, Nelson Bugembe, a young entrepreneur, wanted to express gratitude to Jacqueline Asiimwe for her inspiring work. He brought two humble gifts from his business, liquid soap and dog shampoo. Instead of simply accepting them, Jacqueline insisted on paying.

What she may not have realized is that her single act of support helped Nelson produce 470 more liters. That payment became more than a transaction, it became fuel for a dream.

“Support is not always about the big things. It’s about believing in someone’s dream, no matter how small it seems.”

In a Uganda where young people are rewriting the narrative from job seekers to job creators, this moment reminds us: Giving is not always loud. But it is always powerful.
