Giving Opportunity | Running for Hope, Healing, and Life
A powerful giving opportunity has opened through Cancer Run Uganda 2026, launched in Nsambya under the theme Gwanga Mujje. Organisers are calling on 100,000 runners to help raise UGX 5 billion toward completing the Cancer Treatment Centre at Nsambya with Linear Accelerator technology. Reports also note that the run is part of a wider effort that includes more than 70 medical camps focused on awareness and early screening.
The campaign has already attracted major backing. New Vision reports that President Museveni pledged UGX 3 billion, while public launch coverage and Monitor report strong support from Speaker Anita Among and Centenary Bank’s contribution toward this year’s campaign.
This is what a giving opportunity looks like: a whole country being invited to turn public participation into treatment access, better infrastructure, and renewed hope for families facing cancer.
How to give
You can give by joining the run and purchasing a kit. Centenary Bank says kits can be bought through the Gonza Pay app, and that kits will also be available at most Centenary Bank branches nationwide. The official Uganda Rotary Cancer Program website also has a donate page for direct support, alongside a contact email for enquiries and partnership follow-up.
Run for hope. Give for healing.
