Five hundred Mama Kits. One thousand litres of fuel. One community coming together to help expectant mothers reach the care they need.
On 30th December 2026, the second edition of the Abim Impact Marathon will bring runners, community members and partners together in Abim District, Uganda, under the theme Maternal Health and Culture. The initiative aims to mobilise resources for 500 Mama Kits and 1,000 litres of fuel to support referrals of expectant mothers from hard-to-reach communities to Abim General Hospital.
The inaugural marathon in 2025 attracted more than 250 participants and helped provide 200 Mama Kits. This year's event builds on that collective effort, offering individuals and organisations an opportunity to contribute through participation, sponsorship and support for maternal healthcare.
