Why Leaders Need Coaching: A Reflection on Leadership, Growth, and the Gift of Being Seen
Leadership is often celebrated through titles, achievements, and influence, yet behind every leader is a human being carrying responsibility, navigating uncertainty, and making difficult choices. Coaching creates a vital space for leaders to pause, reflect, and grow with intention. Through the GROW¡ Mentorship and Coaching Programme, leaders are supported by certified professional coaches from ICF Uganda, who walk alongside them as thought partners in their leadership journeys. Recently, the CivSource Africa Galaxy hosted Mr Stephen Mukasa, President of ICF Uganda, and Mr Malcolm Fiellies, ICF Global President and Regional Director for Europe and Africa, in a conversation that affirmed one powerful truth: leaders need basic coaching skills to listen better, support teams, build trust, and nurture human potential.
