Naona | A Vision Boarding Experience

At the heart of GROW¡ Cohort 4’s Naona session, Swahili for “I See,” was a quiet but powerful awakening. What began with flipping through magazines and gluing pictures onto blank boards turned into something sacred: the act of naming the future before stepping into it. Guided by storyteller and futurist Gloria Mugarura Bwandungi, participants gave shape to their inner visions using words, images, and symbols that spoke louder than explanation ever could. From sunrises symbolizing new beginnings to cut-out words like “confident,” the session turned longing into language and language into intention.

This was not about creating perfect plans—it was about giving ourselves permission to dream. The vision boards became mirrors and maps, reflecting who we are becoming and reminding us of the direction we’re choosing to walk. As the GROW¡ program continues, these boards will serve as visual promises—personal commitments to pursue lives of stability, joy, and purpose. The future isn’t passive—it’s made, one vision at a time.
